For over 26 years, I have partnered with individuals, couples, and families to navigate life's complexities with confidence and clarity. Licensed across Alabama, Colorado, Washington D.C., Maine, and New Hampshire, I meet you wherever you are — geographically and emotionally.
Why Clients Choose to Work with Me - My approach is strengths-based and goal-oriented, blending academic rigor with real-world clinical experience. As both a practicing therapist and university instructor with dual master's degrees in social work and instructional design, I bring something to the therapeutic relationship that is genuinely rare: the ability to bridge evidence-based research and meaningful human connection. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders; trauma and PTSD; family and relationship dynamics; grief; life transitions; ADHD and learning differences; military and veteran support; medical and physical health challenges; and substance use.
Our Work Together - Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored. We uncover root causes, build on your existing strengths, develop healthier patterns, and set goals that align with your life and values.
Your Journey Starts Here - Choosing to begin is an act of courage — and you will not walk it alone. With a background spanning medical social work, burn and transplant care, child welfare, and academia, I have witnessed the full range of human struggle and resilience. I know transformation is possible because I have had the privilege of watching it happen. The path may be long, but the greatest reward is not reaching the end — it is who you become along the way.

Your Questions, Answered
What can I expect from a first session?
The first session is about getting to know you. We will explore what brings you to therapy, identify your goals, and begin building the foundation for our work together. I will also gather some background history and answer any questions you have about the process.
What does a typical session look like?
Individual sessions are 53 minutes and are guided by your goals and what is most present for you that week. I may use a variety of evidence-based approaches depending on your needs — and sometimes life interrupts the plan, and that is perfectly okay too.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I accept multiple insurance plans. If your plan is not listed, please reach out and we will explore your options together. I am committed to making care as accessible as possible.
Can sessions be conducted remotely?
All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth, which means you can access quality care from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are. I am currently licensed in Alabama, Colorado, DC, Maine, and New Hampshire.
How long does therapy typically last?
The length of treatment varies by person and goal. Some clients find meaningful progress in a few months; others benefit from longer-term support. We will regularly revisit your goals together and adjust the plan as you grow.
What is your cancelation policy?
A minimum of 24 hours notice is requested for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. Life happens — early communication is always appreciated and we will work it out together.
Ready to take the first step?
Starting therapy is one of the most courageous things you can do for yourself. I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can make sure we are a good fit before we begin.
